ExplorNet/QTL offers professional development for CTE teachers:

State-approved teacher certification/endorsement training for Computer Engineering and Digital Media programs.
Workshops tied to the content of courses including Computer Applications;
Software and technology training;
Workshops on implementing courses in Moodle;
Workshops on using 21st Century Tools in the CTE Classroom;
Custom workshops or training for districts.

Teacher Certification Training
These sessions meet training requirements for state teacher certification to teach the following courses. Completion of this training is required for teachers who are beginning to teach ExplorNet's Computer Engineering and Digital Media programs. Sessions cover course content as well as the use of ExplorNet resources.

Course-Specific Workshops
These sessions are designed to provide teachers with a stronger understanding of course content and effective strategies for teaching it. Read comments from recent participants.

Software and Technology Training
These sessions focus on the program being taught. Participants learn how to use the tool and apply what they've learned to teach the content of their courses. We are planning sessions in Flash, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and more during Fall 2010. Details coming soon.

Implementing Courses in Moodle
Participants in these one-day sessions will receive access to a pre-built Moodle 'base course' and instruction on how to use it to teach a blended online course that engages students, covers NCDPI objectives and curriculum, enables differentiation, and saves paper. The workshop fee includes one Moodle class setup. A Drafting I course is being piloted in Fall 2010, with a one-day teacher training on August 3.
